Okay so this is post numero uno--I haven't any idea if I'm going to generate a ton of followers or whatever, but my asst. manager at work told me to stop annoying him & start blogging [okay, not really, but it's something he would say] so, yes. blog. [also, follow him here because he's a tech whiz & also ridiculously hilarious]
I promise not to pull a Peter Griffin & make this one of those "You know what really grinds my gears?" series of rants. Because honestly I have one purpose--dragging society's image of women out of the gutter & into this century. Seriously? Seriously? Let's talk about this.
I'm tired of women thinking that "reality" shows where all they do is try to find a man are cool. What year is this?! You don't have to be married to be hip. No offense, baby boomers, but my generation doesn't focus as intently on marriage as our predecessors, so quit cramming it down our throats like it's a necessity. You know what people need to survive? Food. Water. Air. Shelter is preferred. A wedding ring isn't on that list!! If you fall in love, high five, nice job. But it's not a competition. There are so many opportunities open to women in this day & age, don't, seriously, do not think your social value is judged by who you wed & how many babies you pop out before you shuffle off your mortal coil.
Grr. I'm sick of the Jessica Simpsons and Kim Kardashians of this generation. MILEY CYRUS POLE DANCING FOR HER DAD?! WTF. I honestly thought we were above casting ourselves as the opposite gender's sexual gratifiers. Women, you are capable of so much more. Your breasts cannot think, function, or survive independently of your body, so don't act like they're your defining characteristics. That thing sitting on top of your neck is carefully constructed to protect an organ we higher functioning mammals like to call a "BRAIN." DEVELOP IT!
Oh my god. I could keep going, but this IS just a test. More will follow...

"Leaps and, bounds hide my eyes, I guess i've got the blues"
ReplyDeleteAs far as I am concerned, reality TV shows aren't even based in reality. The entire point of watching television, from a producer / network standpoint is to sell advertisment slots to generate revenue to promote products and to convince people to spend money on useless crap.
Just breathe and remember that it's just a show, 'entertainment' as they say... however the best option for a young girl / woman is to probably not get involved with this, or any other drama addictions.
Marriage is another topic all together, .. but yeah, getting married is def. not the peak of a womans potential, and it's a shame that television or the media would promote that, then again when does television promote healthy things for our soceity? gotta have drama to get people wrapped up in it and controversy to sell them ads, feed the machines
Well said.
